T Levels

What Are T Levels?

T Levels are an alternative to A Levels, apprenticeships and other 16 to 19 courses.

They are equivalent in size to 3 A Levels however a T Level focuses on vocational skills and can help students into skilled employment, higher study or apprenticeships.

Each T Level includes a 45 day industry placement.

The Industry Placement

Each T Level includes an in-depth industry placement that lasts for at least 45 days.

This allows students to gain valuable experience and insight in the workplace.

80/20

Students will spend 80% of their time in a learning environment (classroom, lectures etc) learning valuable skills that employers need.

The other 20% of the time is spent on industry placement where they can put these newfound skills into action.

How Is It Different From An Apprenticeship?

T Levels are similar to apprenticeships in that you specialise in an area from the start and there is an 80/20 split of time. The main difference with a T Level the majority of the time is spent in the classroom or other educational setting, whereas an apprenticeship has the majority of time in the workplace.

You are also not earning a wage while studying T Levels, which you are when undertaking an apprenticeship.

Finally, apprenticeships are open to anyone of any age. T Levels are available to those aged between 16-19.

Entry Requirements

Each college will have its own entry requirements for their T Levels. Please see their websites for more information.
