Level 2 Cambridge Technical Certificate in Sport and Physical Activity
This is an exciting and varied course that will allow you to achieve your potential and progress to the next stage of life, whether it be further study via a Level 3 Tech Level, an apprenticeship, or straight into employment.You will study four main units: health and well-being, the bodies response to exercise, inclusivity, equality and diversity in sport and leading sport and physical activity sessions. What is learned on the course:

– Trends in current sports participation
– Barriers to participation
– How to plan and run Inclusive sport events
– Warm ups and cool downs
– Planning coaching sessions
– Leading sports coaching sessions
Level 2 Cambridge Technical Certificate in Health and Social Care
This course will allow you to learn through theoretical & practical lessons , to develop core principles & specialist knowledge and understanding required in the health & social care sector. We have guest speakers from the ambulance service, Broadmoor Hospital & the local education authority who come to speak with you. There is also a combined trip with psychology & sociology.
You will study four units & along with a work placement in year 12. When you have successfully completed your course you will be able to start a level 3 qualification in health & social care or child development, start an apprenticeship or work within a nursery or care setting.
Level 2 Cambridge Technical Certificate in IT
This qualification aims to develop your knowledge, understanding and skills of the essentials of IT and cyber security. You will gain an insight into the IT sector as you investigate the pace of technological change, IT infrastructure on a global scale, and the importance of legal and security considerations. The course comprises of core units:
– Essentials of cyber security
– Using data analysis software
– And optional units:
– Using emerging technologies
– Using social media channels for business
The course focuses on the skills required to support the needs of business through data analysis and decision making. It also looks at identifying the most suitable format to communicate a business need and creating suitable content. In a fast changing world it also investigates how new technologies can be used to support business needs.
Entry requirements
Students who typically achieve lower GCSE grades can access this pathway. Year 12 students will select one of the three main vocational subjects. Should students not require a re-take in either GCSE English or maths, units from a second vocational course may be studied. The table shows a typical course structure and the learning hours for each component.
