Every year, Year 12 students at Sandhurst School will undertake a week of work experience. Students are strongly encouraged to find their own placements according to their interests and future aspirations.
We advise our students to contact prospective placements by phone. However, many organisations do ask for a formal letter requesting a placement. For help with writing your letter please click on the link below.
We also have a database of placements that students have used in previous years. If students are unable to find their own placement please see Mrs Nicholls for further support.

Enrichment
This is the only optional part of a student’s timetable! Students can do as much as they want, and the activities are chosen (and sometimes organised) by the students themselves. Students can join the Enrichment Committee to help organise these events.
These activities look great on your CV or UCAS application! Enrichment activities develop and improve students’ confidence. They include the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme, work experience, sports leaders, lower school mentoring, school council, industry visits, school productions, Reaching Rwanda, fundraising through enterprise activities and school radio. Nineteen students committed to local citizenship-based projects in summer 2016 as a result of the school’s champion school status for the National Citizenship Service.
